Wedding Venues in Sheffield | My Top Picks
Sheffield boasts a stunning array of wedding venues, and if you're not sure what type of wedding you want or where you'd like it to take place, the options can feel overwhelming. The search can also become a bit tiresome if you're not looking in the right spots. I’ve been doing this 10+ years now so I've had the chance to visit quite a few venues, and I have my personal favourites. Admittedly, they might be biased—thanks to their lighting, architecture, and the wonderful people who run them—but I thought I'd share them with you in this blog. You might discover some places you've never heard of, or perhaps see them styled for a wedding for the first time as these are all real weddings.
In this post, I’m focusing on wedding venues in Sheffield. Whether you’re looking for something in the city centre or on the outskirts, I’ve rounded up my top picks. If you're in the midst of planning your big day, I hope this gives you some inspiration. I've even added my own rating system for fun—enjoy!

The Chimney House, Kelham Island
Dog Friendly : Outside yes.
Disabled Access : No.
Weather Dependent : Not really, it’s a beautiful space and I have been there at full capacity when it’s rained and it’s more than fine.
Photo Ops : If you’re after the urban vibe then you are spoilt as Kelham Island is filled with great places to use as backdrops.
Lighting : The light is beautiful, the daylight coming through the windows on the brick interior is just to die for.
Entertainment : Not much room for large entertainment but small bits yes.
Food : Provided by the kitchen over at The Mowbray and I must say it’s some of the best wedding food I have ever had the pleasure to sample. One wedding had a fully vegan menu and it was delicious.
Places to stay : Absolutely loads! Although Kelham Island doesn’t have many places, there are loads very close.
The Mowbray, Kelham Island
Dog Friendly : No.
Disabled Access : Yes.
Weather Dependent : Not at all! The indoor space is really lovely, bright, moody and spacious.
Photo Ops : If you’re after the urban vibe then you are spoilt as Kelham Island is filled with great places to use as backdrops. You can even go for a short drive up the hill for some amazing views.
Lighting : Love it, very moody, can be dark in the evenings and if cloudy outside but rooftop is obviously a good space for lots of light.
Entertainment : The space is huge so there is plenty of space for games and live music.
Food : Provided by The Mowbray and I must say it’s the best wedding food I have ever had the pleasure to sample. One wedding had a fully vegan menu and it was delicious.

Dog Friendly : Yes.
Disabled Access : Yes.
Weather Dependent : Not at all! The indoor space is really lovely, bright and spacious.
Photo Ops : If you’re after the urban vibe then you are spoilt as Kelham Island is filled with great places to use as backdrops. You can even go for a short drive up the hill for some amazing views.
Lighting : Love it, the warehouse is lovely and bright, plenty of natural light.
Entertainment : The warehouse is huge so there is plenty of space for games and live music.
Food : You will have to get in your own catering but there’s room for all kinds of food trucks.
Places to stay : Absolutely loads! Although Kelham Island doesn’t have many places, there are loads very close.
The Hide, City Centre
Dog Friendly : Yes.
Disabled Access : Yes.
Weather Dependent : Not really, but it is lovely being able to have your own little street party.
Photo Ops : If you’re after the urban vibe then you are spoilt as there are loads of street art, brick walls and shutters you can use as backdrops. There are also some hidden bits of green for some nature.
Lighting : Lovely natural light through the windows and shutters.
Entertainment : Plenty of room for games and live music.
Food : Food provided by Percy and Lily’s street food which is in house and just delicious!
Places to stay : Absolutely loads! Being right in the centre there is definitely no shortage.
The Botanical Gardens
Dog Friendly : Yes.
Disabled Access : Yes.
Weather Dependent : Sort of, it’s obviously much better if it doesn’t rain but if it does then everyone can pile in the pavilions, or have umbrellas.
Photo Ops : Absolutely spoilt for choice, you have to have your reception elsewhere as it’s a ceremony only venue so you can have lots of beautiful botanical photos, followed by more photos in a different location if you want.
Lighting : Super bright and light.
Entertainment : As it’s a ceremony only venue the wedding is the entertainment! You can also stay a while after to have drinks and nibbles that you provide yourselves.
Food : Again, ceremony only venue so you just provide your own nibbles before going off to your reception venue.
Places to stay : Absolutely loads! Being just outside of the centre there is definitely no shortage.
99 Mary Street, City Centre
Dog Friendly : Yes.
Disabled Access : Yes.
Weather Dependent : Not really, but it is lovely being able to have your own little street party.
Photo Ops : If you’re after the urban vibe then you are spoilt as there are loads of street art, brick walls and shutters you can use as backdrops. There are also some hidden bits of green for some nature.
Lighting : Love it, beautiful natural light through the windows against the brick walls.
Entertainment : Perfect for evening entertainment.
Food : You need to get an external caterer in but there’s plenty of room for it.
Places to stay : Absolutely loads! Being right in the centre there is definitely no shortage.
Whirlow Hall Farm, Whirlow
Dog Friendly : Yes.
Disabled Access : Yes.
Weather Dependent : Not really, the grounds and farm are really lovely but if it was to rain all day the inside is big enough to not feel stuffed in.
Photo Ops : LOADS! The farm has absolutely loads of places, including playing with the animals.
Lighting : Lots of natural light.
Entertainment : Loads of space for games and entertainment (including my fave singing waiters).
Food : You will have to get in your own catering but there’s room for all kinds of catering.
Places to stay : Although it’s not in the centre it’s only a short drive to accommodation.
Weston Park Bandstand
Dog Friendly : Yes.
Disabled Access : Yes.
Weather Dependent : Sort of, it’s obviously much better if it doesn’t rain but if it does then everyone can pile in the bandstand, or have umbrellas.
Photo Ops : Absolutely spoilt for choice, you have to have your reception elsewhere as it’s a ceremony only venue so you can have some garden photos, followed by more photos in a different location if you want.

Weather Dependent : Quite dependent as the grounds are absolutely beautiful, but if you get a big and nice enough marquee and it rains, you’ll be fine!

Ecclesall Woodland Discovery Centre

Weather Dependent : Quite dependent as the grounds are absolutely beautiful, but the space is nice enough inside.
Photo Ops : LOADS! The woods have absolutely loads of places, so many beautiful places.
Lighting : Lots of natural light.
Entertainment : Loads of space for games.
Food : You will have to get in your own catering but there’s room for all kinds of catering.
Places to stay : Although it’s not in the centre it’s only a short drive to accommodation.

Food : External caterers needed, or it can be supplied by The Bahji Shop who own the warehouse space.

Yellow Arch Studios, Kelham Island
Dog Friendly : Yes.
Disabled Access : Yes.
Weather Dependent : Not at all! The indoor space is really lovely, they have a new revamped warehouse which I have not shot in yet but it’s very bright, clean and trendy.
Photo Ops : If you’re after the urban vibe then you are spoilt as Kelham Island is filled with great places to use as backdrops. You can even go for a short drive up the hill for some amazing views.
Lighting : Love it, warehouse room is lovely and bright, the bar area is really lovely lighting, the dance floor has no natural light but that’s absolutely perfect for when you are dancing the night away.
Entertainment : The courtyard can hold lots of games provided by yourselves and of course with it being a music venue you can have lots of live music.
Food : You will have to get in your own catering but there’s room for all kinds of food trucks.
Places to stay : Absolutely loads! Although Kelham Island doesn’t have many places, there are loads very close.

Weather Dependent : Not really. The grounds are absolutely beautiful (if old cemeteries are your vibe) but inside the chapel it is equally beautiful.
Photo Ops : Plenty of gorgeous nature, plenty of gothic vibes but also just gorgeous nature if you’re not quite into the full goth grave vibe.
Lighting : Loads of natural light.
Entertainment : Plenty of space inside and outside for entertainment.
Food : You have to get external caterers.
Places to stay : Absolutely loads! Being right in the center there is definitely no shortage.
