2020 | A love letter and a round up for this years weddings

So here we are! Normally I would be choosing between actual thousands and thousands of photos to pop into this blog but this year has certainly been a bit different. I managed to shoot 3 weddings before the first of many lockdowns and actually considering the year we’ve had I managed to shoot 19 in total. They have all been completely different and because after March you weren’t allowed a “normal” wedding it was really wonderful to see the creativity of how to have an actual wedding. There were speeches in car parks, 100 guests from Mexico on Zoom, in fact many zoom interactions, married in jeans, gender reveals, lots of masks, lots of socially distanced group photos, lots of hand sanitizer but just so so so much love and so many tiers (move over dad, there’s a new joker in town). Lots of my delightful couples this year had to change their plans SO many times, some even changing plans 1 day before or moving weddings forward a day or 2 to avoid any potential tier changes. All very stressful for them but everyone got married, and although it wasn’t the wedding anyone had planned, everyone had the best time.

One thing this year has taught us is to be incredibly grateful for what we’ve got and these lovely little micro weddings have absolutely taught us this and to love the small things in life. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait until the huge weddings can happen again but these ones will hold a very special place in my heart.

To my wonderful couples of 2020 I absolutely cannot thank you and your incredible family and friends enough, it means so much to me that you all stuck with me, hired me, welcomed me, made me laugh, made me cry and ultimately kept my business going. I have a heart full of love and a head full of memories because of you, honestly this is the soppiest I’ve ever sounded but I can go into 2021 knowing I’ve done my absolute best for all of you and for my little business.
